A Farewell from Sean Glowacz

Driven by a long-standing urge to explore creative writing, I began my internship with Global Site Plans in January 2013. This position provided me a wonderful opportunity to explore a passion of mine that I have tried to nurture throughout my life.

While I have had experience writing and editing articles for student newspapers, I had never ventured into the realm of blogging before this internship. My blogging experience was truly an immersive one, as I learned more than I thought possible about this field in a very short amount of time.

As a professional urban planner for the last five years, I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to share a number of projects that have been near and dear to my heart, including the Kane County 2040 Plan, the Kane County Planning Cooperative and the Chicago BRT program. I definitely will look for some ways to continue to share these projects through blogging in the future.

I leave Global Site Plans with a reinvigorated passion for writing, and an even stronger passion for urban planning. I am extremely appreciative of the opportunity that I was afforded to develop both of these over the last six months. I look forward to finding ways to continue to share the urban planning projects of Chicago, as I believe that these projects offer up important lessons to professionals of a variety of disciplines, perhaps inspiring them to go about their business in new and exciting ways.
