When a potential client, searching for an architect or architecture company or firm, sits down at the computer and searches (Google.com) either terms, “architect listing” or “architecture company,” they are likely to find several sites that offer architect and architecture company directories.
I sat down today and performed such a search.
What I found were eight directories that provide either free and/or annually paid “upgraded” subscription listings ranging from $7.95 to $100.00 per listing.
If you’re looking to increase the amount of traffic to your architecture firms’ practice, thus increasing your revenue, add your firm to these eight listings – a perfect first-step to attaining higher visibility.
Furthermore, many of the sites listed below offer the option to list your individual architecture or architecture company’s website. If you haven’t already established a website, or hopped on the Internet bandwagon, you’re trailing behind your competition.

Now, here are the eight directories you should immediately add your firm to (Left link is the homepage and right link goes directly to adding your firms’ listing to the directory):
3. The American Institute of Architects: AIA Architect Finder -Individuals and firms listed within this directory must be members of the American Institute of Architects.
4. The Wallace Research Group: International Sustainable Architects – If you are an architect involved in the practice fo sustainable architecture, add your contact information by sending and email to The Wallace Research Group (firstname.lastname@example.org), along with a not-to-exceed 50 word description of your sustainable architectural practice.
Of course, this list is just the beginning. You can also submit yourself or an architecture firm listing to local listings on search engines, such as Yahoo! Local (Add Your Business to Yahoo! Local) and Google Places and Google Maps (You must have a Google account to sign in and add your business).
And if you already have an individual website and/or a firm website, make sure you submit your website to all the major search engines, such as Yahoo!, Bing, and Google. That is, if you haven’t already.
Now, go out there and beat the competition!
